Description
This is a nice, silver,
"One Gulden"
from the Kingdom of Bavaria. It was struck in 1844 during the reign of Ludwig I. He came to the throne in 1825 and ruled until the Europe wide revolutions of 1848, when he abdicated the throne to his son. He lived until 1868.
The Gulden was the currency unit used in Bavaria at this time but by the Convention of July 30, 1838 these circulated all over Germany. This type Gulden was struck each year between 1837 and 1848.
Weight: 10.53 Grams, 30 Millimeters, .900 Silver. Mintage: 3,490,647.

The Coin:
A nice specimen. It saw some hands, shows wear and has some marks. Like so many old silver coins, it has been cleaned at some time. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
